Stan Getz & John Coltrane live in Düsseldorf, Germany. They are joined by the recently deceased Oscar Peterson. This is for those who have been a part of the many arguments about whether Trane has a decent sound. Enjoy.

I’m not sure. I will have to play it several times to know if I like it a lot or just…like it. Make any sense?
It was not bad. I kind of liked it.
Jazz is usually an acquired taste. I’m the same way with most country music. But that fact that you would take the time to listen to some of the arguably finest jazz saxophonists there every were warms the cockles of my heart. :o)
I think Coltrane was an uber genius. I love a lot of his stuff with Miles Davis and T. Monk. I also have a pretty cool album he did with pianist McCoy Tyner. His song "Giant Steps is remarkably hard to play well.
Happy New Year! I am sorry i couldn’t make it to your cyber=party.
I’ll be listening to Coltrane when i am not so busy – i want quiet around me while listening to this particular kind of music.
love, daphne

Pinkie, I’ve heard that before and for Thelonius Monk and the like too. I’ve got them going in the background at work a lot.

Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Joe Pass, Gary Barts, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Jaco Pastorious, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland, Wayne Shorter, Pat Martino, Stanley Turrentine, Bruno Migliari, Joe Zawinul, John Scofield, Grover Washington, and David Sandborn need I say more, I could go on and on and on, Once you hear a great musician, everything else pales in comparison, no matter your age, I am diverse in my listening but I love Jazz old and new…nothing like it in the world…Play On!!!! Kisses Catherine P. S. Sorry, I got carried away.
