Here birdie, birdie, birdie…

I’ve inadvertently trained my indoor-only cats to come running whenever I open a window. I train them to come when I call them by either playing with them or now by opening a window. Most times when I call them they come running. It’s simple behavior reinforcement 101. The other day I caught a break and got this loverly picture of (from left to right) Thelonius, Dharma, and Macy twittering at the birds. Those of you with cats will know what I’m talking about; it’s that weird sound they make when they want to "play" with the birdies.

The cats are almost two years young, full of energy, and quite active. I can’t play with them enough. Theo can leap about six feet straight up. The girls leap pretty high too. And when I open the kitty toy cabinet doors… Well all I can say is watch out.  :o)

I didn’t know Theolonius was that young?  I thought Macy was the ‘baby’ and Theo was maybe a year older.  I don’t recall your speaking (writing) of Dharma.  They are beautiful!
I do know that sound.  My girl is indoor only too.  And she watches "Bird TV" every day thropugh the full view screen door glass.

Anyone you know in Orlando for the Tech Ed week long conference?  Mr. Gates was there yesterday.

When K get back I will have to show him this picture of your beauties.  Speaking of training…maybe it is a "guy" thing.  K trained Cotton to meow whenever we say ANYTHING to her.  Then he has this little game of using his Lazar light thing to give the kitties "exercise".  When my son comes to visit…they both enjoy doing this activity with the kitties.

You have done a lovely job of training too.  😉

This reminds me so much of some of our cats. They are fascinated by squirrels and birds…both kinds tend to be attracted to the feeder we have outside a kitchen window. I was wondering if your cats make the little "machine gun" sounds when watching birds? When I was very young, my family pet was a Siamese cat and she would make that sound when watching birds. I haven’t heard any of my current cats do that sound. Maybe she was unique in that way?

Two Bengals???  I’m so jealous!!!  I adore cats.  If our apartment complex allowed a dozen, I’d have ’em.  My little guy recently discovered the wonderful world of bugs *lol*.  It’s now his mission in life.  Other than being my shadow.
