Linda Ronstadt, sometimes it’s the simple thangs in life

LRonstadt Having done a tribute to one of Mom’s fav singers, I thought I would highlight one of mine. A long time favorite of Suzy and me is Linda Ronstadt. This picture is from her Hasten Down the Wind album. Yes, I said it… Album.  :o)

One of my favorite songs by Linda and one that is not on everyone’s list, Lo Siento Mi Vida. Here is a YouTube video of that song:

As noted by others, one has to wonder why this popular vocalist and entertainer who has earned multiple Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, numerous United States and internationally certified gold, platinum and multiplatinum albums, in addition to Tony Award and Golden Globe nominations has not been nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here are some of my other fav pictures of Linda.

She always got a lot of new media attention and magazine covers.

That’s my Sunday morning reflection as I wait for Suzy to wake from her stint on the all-night shift at the hospital last night.

I am a big fan of Ronstadts too.  My favorite song of hers is "It Doesn’t Matter Anymore."  I play it on my space a lot.  If you are a true fan you will want to get the 2 dvd set of the Johnny Cash show.  It shows her when she appeared on his show and how June (Johnny’s wife) made her put some under panties on as June thought Linda was out to get Johnny.  Even if you are not a country music fans you would enjoy those dvds.

It’s interesting that Linda Ronstadt’s back up band turned out to be one of the most successful bands of their time:  The Eagles.

I SO love Linda Ronstadt…all the way from the Stone Ponies and "Different Drum" through "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" and "Blue Bayou" and past the Nelson Riddle and "Canciones" era.  Her boxed set is sitting on my microwave right now.   (Not for cooking, it happens to be close to the kitchen CD player.) Thanks for the pictures.  She is so beautiful.P.S…..Linda Ronstadt trivia….she was Jim Carrey’s partner at one time.
