There are so many great places to spend your dining out dollars. But Suzy and I can normally be found at the Mom and Pop places with prices that are amazingly low for the quality food served. The American Cafe in Crossroads of Bellevue is an example. And I challenge you to find a better cup o’ chowder on the eastside.
But there is one place I keep meaning to go to but to date we’ve not been. It’s not Tulas, Jazz Alley, and the like–we’ve been there. It’s Bakes at Providence Point. The food is reported to be excellent and the jazz not to be missed. We’ll get there soon, just wait and see. Thanks for the ping Elaine.

its a long way to go for chowder… lol but the next time we’re in the states, and in that neck of the woods (which is where exactly?…lol) we will have to give it a go..

I just happened to click on the story since we do a fair amount of traveling and the first one to come up was the one in Seattle, thought of you and Suzy and forwarded :-) Did you go through the slideshow? Too pricey for us. Some of them were in the $400/per person range! Canlis does look nice though.

Well, eating out in England is usually a quite expensive disappointment. Unless you’re eating Indian or Chinese, strangely. Whenever we go out to eat, my wife the lovely Anita often tells me that I could have cooked it better, and without any false modesty, I usually have to agree with her. If nothing else, it’s got her out of cooking duties for the last twenty nine years. Clever woman.
I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Europe, but I’ve found Hungarian, Albanian(YES REALLY!!) and Greek food in particular to be very enjoyable. Apart from the stuffed chicken breast in Budapest. When I later had the opportunity to decipher the menu listing I discovered that it was stuffed with smoked pig’s brains. Interesting, eh? But it was tasty, much though it pains me to admit.
We’re hoping to visit NYC in March next year, my first trip to the US, Anita’s third. I look forward to sampling the food there, but doubt we’ll have the chance to dash over to Seattle for a meal. Is it far on the bus? We’ve got five days there.

Occasionally I enjoy a meal of this sort in such an establishment.
