Meet Saori Yano, saxophonist extraordinaire. I can help but wonder if this is what you get if insist upon your child puttin’ in the shed time? With the silly outburst of Amy Chua’s book, “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother”, mostly by white parents btw, I am reminded of the time that I hear one of my siblings complain about the parents not forcing the piano lessons.
You can find her albums on Amazon here. But there are quite a few videos of her performances on YouTube too. CHeck this one out:
Saori Yano
As many have said, is the Charlie Parker reincarnated as a pretty, teenage Japanese girl? No matter how she got there, she really has some jazz chops.

I’m 58 y.o. returning alto player. I fell in love with Saori and her way of carrying the tune right from the day one when I heard her. What an incredible musicality, sense of time and swing.
There are no words to describe her genius.
Thank you Gandalfe for bringing this female reincarnation of Ch.P. to the attention of the rest of the World !!!
