SAXO from Brasserie Caracole is a very complex artisanal Wallonian blond ale with an unusual hoppiness, bitterness and a touch of spice. Bizarre grainy punch of taste preceding hops and waves of flavors whizzing over the tongue.

Looks good to me. Though curiously, most Belgian beers we get here are very bland, although I must admit I’ve never seen that Saxo brand.(Saxo’s a brand of table salt in England-fascinating, no?) The German and Czech beers are the most reliably tasty ones that you can get here.
Until we start on the heavier brews, the bitters and the ales, in which case you can’t beat our local Harvey’s (Lewes, Sussex. The brewery, on a riverside site, is 8 miles, 127 yards and 16 inches from my front door) products. But we drink them at room temperature and they shouldn’t be gassy. They are very good though. As are most beers.
