“Even the good plans of wise wizards like Gandalf and of good friends like Elrond go astray sometimes when you are off on dangerous adventures over the Edge of the Wild, and Gandalf was a wise enough wizard to know it.” ~ Chapter Four
We have been waiting a while for this movie with just a few tidbits eeked out along the way. Now we hear that we are a year away from seeing the movie. But oh the delicious anticipation of a well done movie by Peter Jackson and based upon a book that we adored. This time the movie will be in 3D and uses a new high-speed filming technique.
The NY Daily News breaks this news today: Prepare for a return to Middle Earth.
Warner Bros. has released the first official look at the highly anticipated prequel to “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.”
The announcement trailer shows an older Bilbo Baggins as he tells his nephew Frodo about his extraordinary adventure that led to him finding the infamous Ring of Power.
“You asked me once if I had told you everything there was to know about my adventures,” Bilbo says in the trailer. “Well, I can honestly tell you I told the truth… I may not have told you all of it.”
Both Ian Holm and Elijah Wood reprise their “Lord of the Rings” roles for the film, while Martin Freeman of the U.K.’s “The Office” plays the younger Bilbo.
The events in the film take place 60 years before “The Lord of the Rings” story. The young Bilbo embarks on an adventure with a group of warrior dwarfs to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from an evil dragon.
Also reprising their roles from the previous films are Christopher Lee, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis as Gollum.

All I can say is he’d better not @#$% this one up.
