Welcome to the all new Woodwind Forum
Well I did it. I’ve moved from the SOTW site as the admin to a new forum. The Woodwind Forum is going to be a collaborative effort of some very successful friends of mine and me. We are testing the server, adjusting the layout, and laying down some plain and simple rules. It will be a fabulous new experiment and I invite all of my musically inclined friends and family to take a look at http://www.woodwindforum.com/community.
I’ll still be a reader and contributor to the Sax on the Web site but as Suzy said, "You can’t be admin on both sites and still keep up with all the bands you are part of." Of course she is correct. But don’t tell her that okay. ;o)

Sax Chandelier – Oh the Humanity
This is a picture sent to me from Greg our bari/alto sax and bass clarinet player. "While I’m at it, here’s something I ran across in the SFO International terminal last week. I walked right by it the first time, not realizing what it was. Reminds me of the entry chandelier at the Hollywood Hard Rock Café, which is entirely constructed of saxophones."
Think of all the saxes that gave their lives for this piece of art!
Here’s the HRC pic:
Just makes me want to cry. The guitars, well they’re a dime a dozen. ;o)

Remind me why you think this is your chair and other adventures.
I didn’t get the pictures I wanted but still you might get the idea. These cats really think they own the joint. Here you get the inevitable, "What? You taking pictures again?"
Last of the Christmas pics Shelby guarding the tree, again. Oh, and so much for the no gifts part this year.
And of course the chair queen, Macy, doing her thang. For the more observant, Suzy did the upholstery on both chairs and the bench. It’s nice, I get to pick the fabric and she does the hard part. Both chairs were second-hand shop finds. The bench was a refinished project by Suzy.

WebMD Readers’ Choice: Top 10 Blog Posts of 2007
I’m sittin’ here getting a jump on a long holiday weekend and thinking about what I might enjoy blogging about today. And I remember a funny thread my blogger posse talked about earlier this year that generated a lot of discourse. So for educational reasons only (sure) lets talk about thongs and things! :o)
WebMD‘s bloggers are an outspoken bunch, offering their expert insights on everything from the health risks of thong underwear to the joys of Girl Scout cookies.
Find out which subjects really piqued the interests of WebMD users in 2007.
The year’s top 10 blog posts:
2. The Dangers of Sleeping Naked
3. How Tension and Relaxation Are Important to Women’s Orgasms
4. Missed Your Period but You’re Not Pregnant?
5. The Pain of Being Overweight
7. Pick Your Poison: Yellow, Blue, Pink, or White Packets
8. Expensive Beds: Are They Worth the Money?
9. Is It TMJ?
I trust you won’t find this as racy as it is fascinating.

The next world-changing, big Idea?
I’ve been reading Hugh MacLeod’s ‘Gapingvoid.com‘ for a while now. And he is usually a very interesting read. Heck I carry around business cards designed by him for one of my bands (the Dissonance). But there is some very strong, not-PC, stuff there, so tread carefully.
Hugh currently has a three-part blog post on Microsoft’s Next Big Idea and I have to say, I’m under-whelmed. It’s not exciting enough, pointing to advances in TV-serving software. Blah. I think investments in social software is where it’s at for the future. Ever been sucked into the void that is Second Life? It’s addictive for way too many people. (Suzy asked me to stop spending so much time there so I uninstalled all the software. I was spending about 20 to 30 hours of free time a week there.) Not your cup of tea, then try World of Warcraft, according to my daughter.
And for the business world there’s Linked In. This is the start of a world where citizens will never want to come out of their caves (homes). I’m not sure how great that is but it’s coming for a lot of people. But it’s what I’m reading about with great interest.
Happy New Years readers. :o)

ShorterSigs.com
A friend of mine started using the ShorterSigs.com free services and I really like it. Recently there had been a discussion about siglines that have more space and info than the response in an email. It came to a head when one fellow had a page of sigline.
The site is easy to use with not gotchas that bothered me. I created two siglines in about five minutes.
But you might want to be careful. Because so much info is provided, you might not carefully add or omit info based upon the contact you are writing to. But then maybe I’m being paranoid.

Xmas Fun
Aaron and Wendy arrived Friday and we’ve had so much fun with the kitties, saxophones, and each other. So much that I haven’t been blogging or spending as much time on the Sax on the Web forum. Go figure. ;o)
So here are some more pictures and I’m back to the frivolities.
Aaron playing Christmas song arrangements. He is quite the arranger.
Suzy and Wendy play with the kitties (from left to right) Dharma, Thelonius, and Macy.
Happy holidays everyone.
