Snow in Seattle – 2007

DSCF0091 We awoke this morning to snow so I thought I’d take some pictures of our very strange and wondrous view. These are pictures of our front yard. We don’t get much snow around here so we take notice when it shows up. And driving can become very treacherous as most of the Seattlites are not used to icy road conditions.

DSCF0093 We went to our Holiday Music gig with the Woodinville Jazz Ensemble at the Seattle Center House today. Fortunately the roads were not yet bad. The concert was a hoot with a good turnout. I hope to post something on Soapbox soon so that you hear a song from the concert. I took the film at such a high resolution that I have to reduce the quality somehow.

We’ve been home for a while now and it has snowed for over an hour. I have a gig at the theater tonight, so it will be interesting to so if the sold out house has a lot of empty seats due to the weather. BTW, the run of ‘A Chorus Line’ and the Second Story Rep sold out every night but one, which is a record for the theater. But then, Washingtonians love there musicals. When Young Frankenstein was here those tickets got very hard to find, very fast.

Lovely house and snow pictures!  We get some of the Seattle and area news, so I know when you are expecting, or having snow.  =)   They had that same problem in the Washington D. C. area…of people not being good snow drivers.  It was so transient there that people not used to having snow would drive to close or carelessly.  Some of our friends up here thought there wasn’t snow in Virginia but there were regular flurries each winter and occasional blizzards and snow storms with several inches and occasionally even a foot or more.  Wish K and I could enjoy some of your performances.

Oh I loved seeing pictures of your house and snow in Seattle <evil grin>. I can imagine the driving would quite treacherous since it’s such a rare occurrence in your city. Glad you made it back home safe and sound.
