Adam and Eve – Another View

I keep seeing this cartoon on different blogs and such. Wikipedia has a good article on Adam and Eve which talks to the story based on different religions. This just tickled me. So I thought I’d share it and see if anyone knows who the artist is.

Honestly, this cartoon presents a common ignorant view. That some religions require their women to cover up, while the men can do whatever they want. This is in fact, untrue. Generally, religious restrictions on dress apply to both sexes. Men and women are both required to dress modestly. How far a person takes this though, is often more cultural than religious. This is why you see various degrees of modest dressing among Muslims. Burkas in Afghanistan, Salwaars in Pakistan and India, and just a hijab in Indonesia. So, blame the culture, not the religion. : )

    It still tickles though.
