I have a swing dance gig with the Pacific Cascade Big Band. Started last year as the B jazz band of the Woodinville Community Band, it is quickly becoming a fun place to play with decent musicians. The swing dance last month had over a hundred high school and older dancers. Two of us from the band got to help choose the best dancer during a contest.

pretty good mixture in the music….looks good…
If anything it tends to be Basie heavy. Luv the Basie stuff and wish I’d met him in person. Earlier this year the Microsoft Jazz Band did a mostly Basie set list at Crossroads. Luv it to death.
sounds like fun, I even recognised quite a few of the titles too curious… do the band ever dress the part too?have a great day hugsdebsxXx
Summer we usually wear loud Hawaiian shirts over khaki. For a formal event it’s black over black with ties. Hats are alway optional. :o)
Break a leg, darling….Kisses Catherine
Catherine, wish you wrote more. You’ve been a ghost for sooo long.
